An investigation into the experiences of women at work
Before taking part in this study, please read the consent form below.
This study is being conducted by lead researcher Dr Laura Smith from the Department of Psychology at the University of Bath. We are specifically looking for expectant and new mothers in paid employment (including on maternity leave) to participate in our research. If this sounds like you, we invite you to complete our online survey.
This survey is part of a research project that is looking at the experiences of expectant mothers in the workplace. If you decide to participate in our survey, we will invite you to answer three questions about your experiences. The questionnaire will take about 5-10 minutes to complete.
The procedure described above is thought to involve minimal risks to research participants. It is possible that you may feel uncomfortable in answering some of the questions about your experiences. However, these risks are not thought to be greater than those encountered in everyday life, and you are not under any obligation to answer any question that you do not feel comfortable answering. If any or all of these topics are sensitive you should feel free to withdraw from participation without penalty. If you find yourself becoming distressed as a result of this study we would encourage you to either contact the researchers or seek counselling (i.e. http://www.samaritans.org). This study was designed to consider all opinions without prejudice so please feel free to express your honest beliefs openly.
All responses are as anonymous and confidential, and in no case will responses from individual participants be identifiable. Participation is voluntary and you may withdraw consent and terminate participation in this study at any time. You are also in no way required to provide any information if you do not feel comfortable doing so.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this study, you may contact the lead researcher, Dr Laura Smith by e-mail: email@example.com or phone: +44 (0)1225 386827.
